Rick Ross, born William Leonard Roberts II on January 28, 1976, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, grew up in Carol City, Florida. After a brief stint in college, he pursued music full-time, rising from the underground rap scene to mainstream success with his 2006 debut album, Port of Miami, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
