Floqer Just Automated the Part of Sales That Eats 70% of a Rep’s Day. Here’s What Every Small Business Owner Needs to Know.

Every small business owner who has ever tried to grow a client list knows the drill: hours of searching LinkedIn, Google, job boards, and company websites just to build a single list of qualified prospects. Then more time chasing down email addresses that may or may not be valid. It’s the least leveraged work in the business — and a startup called Floqer just automated most of it.

On Wednesday, Floqer pitched at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 and announced it has surpassed $1.2 million in annual recurring revenue, with overall revenue growing roughly tenfold over the past year. The company also revealed plans to open-source the core technology behind its autonomous customer knowledge database in early 2027.

What This Actually Means

Floqer is an AI-agent platform that continuously researches companies and contacts for B2B sales and marketing teams. You describe the type of customer you’re looking for; Floqer’s agents search across more than 100 data sources to build and maintain lists of matching companies and contacts. When someone changes jobs or a target company raises new funding, those updates hit your CRM automatically.

The company was founded in 2024 by Shivam Mahajan and Zaaheda Islam, who met at university. Mahajan had previously engineered at Kyndryl; Islam was a senior data scientist at Axis Capital. They started with a Chrome extension to help ChatGPT users take better notes, pivoted when they realized enterprise customers were using it to clean CRM data, and rebuilt from scratch into the platform they presented Wednesday.

Floqer now has eight employees, more than 1,000 customers, and counts Perplexity, Wise, and AngelList among its client base. Its $2 million pre-seed was backed by the Perplexity F7 Fund, N49P, Tidal Venture Partners, and Perplexity co-founder Denis Yarats.

The Numbers Behind It

Floqer’s own customers report cutting prospecting time by as much as 70%. To put that in context: if a solo founder or a two-person sales team spends 10 hours a week on prospect research, that’s 7 hours back per week, or roughly 360 hours per year. That’s nine full work weeks returned to actual selling.

The platform uses a “waterfall” approach for contact verification: when it needs a confirmed email or phone number, it checks one data provider after another until it finds usable, verified information. This addresses one of the biggest friction points in small business outreach: the bounce rate from unverified contact data.

At $1.2M ARR with 1,000+ customers, the average revenue per customer is roughly $100/month — which means pricing is in range for most small businesses doing serious B2B outreach.

The Hustler’s Library Take

Most AI tool coverage focuses on the flashy use cases: writing copy, generating images, summarizing meetings. But the highest-ROI AI applications are almost always the ones that eliminate grunt work nobody talks about. Prospect research is one of the biggest hidden time sinks in any service business, consultancy, or B2B shop — and it’s the kind of task where AI agents genuinely outperform humans (they don’t get distracted, they don’t skip sources, they don’t take coffee breaks).

The open-source announcement is the sharper story here. Floqer’s decision to release its autonomous database tech in early 2027 is a classic startup land-grab move: commoditize the infrastructure, monetize the workflow on top of it. For small business owners, that likely means more integrations, more competing tools built on the same tech, and eventually, lower prices across the category. The window to get ahead of competitors who are still doing this work manually is closing — not in years, but in months.

Floqer isn’t the only tool in this space (Apollo, Clay, and ZoomInfo all play here), but winning the Disrupt Battlefield stage gives it visibility that most bootstrapped competitors can’t buy. If you’re in B2B sales and haven’t audited your prospecting stack recently, now is the time. The tools that existed two years ago are being replaced fast.

What You Should Do

1. Audit your current prospecting time this week. Pull your calendar or time-tracking data and count the actual hours spent on research, list-building, and contact verification. If it’s more than 5 hours a week, you have a direct cost-of-inaction number. Floqer’s 70% reduction claim gives you a concrete benchmark to compare against when evaluating any AI prospecting tool — including Floqer itself.

2. Before buying, test your existing CRM’s AI features. If you’re already on HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive, check what their native AI enrichment tools can do before adding another subscription. Some of these platforms now have built-in prospect research features you may be paying for but not using. Only add a dedicated layer like Floqer if the gap is real.

3. If you’re still doing manual follow-up, fix that before you fix prospecting. There’s no point building a bigger top-of-funnel if leads fall through because you forgot to follow up. Check out how to automate your sales follow-up with email sequences first, then layer in AI prospecting once the pipeline itself is solid. And if you need the full pipeline architecture, this HubSpot pipeline walkthrough covers the whole setup from scratch.
